Bob Wayne has produced a wonderful setting of the classic solo from Mendelssohn's Elijah for 3 to 4 octaves. As an option, portions of the piece can be played on chimes.

This transcribed excerpt from Felix Mendelssohn's Elijah is 55 measures in length. A variety of performance options are available: 3 or 4 octaves of handbells with 3 or 4 octaves of handchimes. A sprinkling of techniques are added to the work for effect and there are a variety of textures from arpeggiated and block chords to staccato passages and shakes at ff. A challenge for musical interpretation awaits your choir with this selection.
