An exciting rhythmic vamp in the lower trombones begins this cheerful arrangement of this timeless Christmas classic. The first trombone starts the melody. At the refrain the lower trombones play the melody with a counter-melody in the third trombone. Gradually the upper voices of the trombone ensemble enter and lead into a duet in a new key. A surprise modulation takes you back to the original key and material based on the introduction concludes this upbeat arrangement. This piece may be used as a quartet, using trombones 1-3 and either the fourth or fifth part. It may also be used as a quintet using all five parts.
