This arrangement was written and performed as a solo by Greg Christy, the leader of the White House Strolling Strings, along with a string ensemble, and first played at a church in northern Virginia. The music is offertory in length, and can be used as a service piece or prelude. The music should be played strongly, with motion. The creative group will add dynamic shadings, and rubatos to the phrases in addition to those shown in the parts. This arrangement works for string quintets, and string orchestras, but will also work for a string quartet, with an additional solo player. The solo can be payed by violin, flute or oboe.
