This interesting new medley uses two well known Christmas melodies associated with the ringing of bells. "Carol of the Bells" and "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day" are played with new harmonies and delightful counterpoint. Like many other Paul Edwards string arrangements, this one gives all of the players interesting things to do in a context attainable by the average string ensemble. This is a good arrangement for use as an offertory or service opener. The thematic nature of the piece makes it a nice transition number on a program shared with bell choirs.
