This new arrangement starts with a dramatic opening featuring the cello and 1st violin playing notes that are four and a half octaves apart. In the gap created by the range of notes, there is a duet with the 2nd violin and viola. Throughout the arrangement there are many interesting harmonies and lines that are the result of the colorful melody. A fine piece for prelude or offertory during the Christmas season.
