Starting with a cello solo, this piece gradually adds instruments, one at a time, until the whole ensemble is playing. Consequently, each player has an opportunity to play the melody as well as some other nice lines. It is an exuberant piece that will work well in a variety of settings. Since everyone is featured, this piece is best played when you have the full attention of your audience. This arrangement would be an excellent choice for a short concert selection or perhaps a recital during the Christmas holiday season.
