This new edition includes for the first time an accompaniment part for a vocal ensemble or choir that can be used with the flute solo and piano. Although the vocal parts are written throughout the arrangement, most of the time, you will select which section of the voice parts to use. The a cappella first section is in a contemporary reharmonized style that some will use and appreciate. From there, three stanzas of the hymn text are included. Players could use some of these, or even change to a different stanza as desired. This arrangement is part of a series of similar settings created for the ministries of White House players who are members of the Air Force, Army, or Marine Bands. An entire concert of solos was written for professional military musicians. Choir / Vocal parts are being created for each of the titles in this series. Good student musicians can readily play these parts.
