Combining with the traditional Auld Lang Syne, this sweetly sentimental original work is written in a popular-song style that will appeal to high school or community choirs. There is an optional spoken solo in the middle as well as an opportunity for the choir to recite their own resolutions for the coming year and ring their own bells in the final measures. Perform it successfully with piano alone, with synth strings and drum set, or add the optional full string and percussion instrumentation.
