Each new volume in this series is beginning to be anticipated by church and school string groups who seek new arrangements for their players. This series is performed by professional players from the Military Band units here in Washington, but is not written at the professional level of difficulty. The intent is to create a practical series of string ensemble arrangements that are sophisticated in use, but are not difficult to learn for the average volunteer or student player. Because these are settings of great hymns and songs, some elements of dramatic writing are included, so the music is effective and well received.
