3-5 octaves - General - Levels 3 and 4 - Windchimes, Suspended Cymbal, Whip, Wood Block, and Maracas - Optional Bb Trumpet - An original composition in three movements which are titled: 1. Sunrise and Wheatwaves,2. Rodeo Jublille, and 3. In Memoriam: April 19,1995. A very impressionistic and programmatic work musically painting a picture of the landscape of central Oklahoma in the first movement; syncopated rhythms, various handbell techniques, and small Percussion all combine to depict a rodeo scene somewhat reminiscent of Aaron Copland's "Hoe-down" in the second movement; the final movement depicts the incredibly devastating tragedy and horror of the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. This work was commissioned by the Central Oklahoma Ringers and Directors for their 1999 Festival.
